The Wolverine Brass 4.5 gallon hydronic heating expansion tank has a cold rolled steel tank with 1/2" NPT stainless steel connections. The expansion tank controls the thermal expansion forces within hydronic (forced hot water) heating systems keeping the system pressures below the relief valve settings. The tank utilizes a heavy duty diaphragm to separate the water from the air cushion. The product comes with a factory pre-set pressure of 12 psi with a max operating pressure of 150 psi and a max air-charge of 80 psi. The tank has a maximum operating temperature of 240 degF. Wolverine Brass portable water expansion tanks are certified to ANSI Z1088 and have a 6 year warranty.
